I found this interesting article on Propeller. It's called 10 things men look for in a girlfriend. A survey was taken over hundreds of bachelors to find out what they look for in a girlfriend and these 10 traits are a result:

She has a life of her own — and it's pretty good to boot.
She never makes the first move.
She is sexy without being trampy.
She waits to have sex.
She does little things to show she cares.
She should be her boyfriend's best wingman — err, wing woman.
She never turns on the pressure.
She does not take any crap — from anyone.
A good woman always chooses a good man.
She knows that love is the biggest part of the mating equation.

I agree to this list to some extent. Of course from experience

My list would be something like this:

1). She is SMART. (I can't stand stupid people in general)
2). She has a great attitude and personality.
3). She can make educated decisions without advice from others.
4). She is informed and aware of the world.
5). She is cute, without being slutty or coy.
6). She is controlling to the point of keeping you in check without stepping on your toes.
7). She likes some of the things you do, and if she doesn't like them, she still supports you.
8). She doesn't mind spending a little extra money now and then for nicer things.
9). She enjoys life's simple pleasures.
10). She is adventurous in bed, without being too kinky (sorry, but sex is some part of a healthy relationship)
